Funding boost for Belturbet Tidy Towns


The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed a grant of over €1,800 to Belturbet Tidy Towns for the provision of bilingual signs.

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed a grant of over €1,800 to Belturbet Tidy Towns for the provision of bilingual signs.

 

The grant was approved by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht, Mr. Eamon O’Cuiv, T.D. under the CLAR Bilingual Signage Scheme and represents half of the cost of the project, the balance of which will be contributed locally.

 

Minister Smith said CLAR funding has benefited many aspects of Cavan life and that this grant will enhance the attractiveness of Belturbet and is a boost to all associated with the local tidy towns.

 

Local Fianna Fáil member of Belturbet Town Council Liz McDermott, also paid a tribute to the work of Belturbet Tidy Towns and said the grant was a worthy recognition of their fine work on behalf of the local community.
