Smith confirms funding boost for Butlersbridge National School


The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that Butlersbridge National School has been approved for grant aid towards improvements at the school.

 

 

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that Butlersbridge National School has been approved for grant aid towards improvements at the school.

 

The grant aid will allow for the completion of extra ground works, the construction of a retaining wall and improvements to meet fire cert conditions.

 

Approved by his colleague, the Minister for Education and Science, Mr. Batt O’Keeffe, T.D., the grant is according to Minister Smith, a welcome boost to the school.

 

“I would like to congratulate all associated with the school for the very high standard of education on offer to its pupils. This additional funding boost will I know be of great assistance to the school in sustaining and further developing its excellent reputation. I have been glad over recent years to support the Board of Management in securing very substantial funding from the Department of Education and Science in the provision of new and additional accommodation that this school”, Minister Smith said.

 

The grant has also been welcomed by local Fianna Fáil Councillor Mr. T.P. Smith who said it was well deserved and would be greeted warmly by the whole community.
