Smith confirms €60,000 grant for Lavey Community Group


The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that Lavey Community Group, Stradone has been approved for a grant of €60,000.

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that Lavey Community Group, Stradone has been approved for a grant of €60,000.

 

The grant, which has been approved by Minister Smith’s colleague, Mr. John Curran, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, will be used for the refurbishment of its centre, including improvements to the heating system, electrical upgrading as well as work on the windows, doors and flooring.

 

Minister Smith said that the grant of €60,000 to Lavey Community Group was very deserving and a fitting recognition of the tremendous work being undertaken on behalf of the local community. He wished all associated with the Group continuing success and that once the refurbishment work was completed, they would be able to expand and develop further the range of their excellent services.

 

Local Fianna Fáil County Councillor, Mr. Gerry Murray also welcomed the grant which he said was a great tribute to the work being undertaken by Lavey Community Group.
