Improvement Works for St Aidan's Comprehensive
Councillor Michael McCarey has warmly welcomed the recent announcement by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mr Brendan Smith TD, that the Minister for Education and Science has now approved grant aid in respect of major improvement works at St Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill.
Councillor McCarey stated that the grant aid under the Department’s Emergency Work Scheme enables improvement works to be carried out including fire doors, roof works and a design communications graphics room at the School. He stated that he was very glad to work along with the Principal, the Board of Management and Minister Smith in making detailed proposals to the Minister for Education and Science in relation to the need to carry out the improvement works.
Minister Smith stated that the need to refurbish the facilities at
St Aidan’s was an issue constantly raised with him by the Fianna Fáil Town Council candidates Michael McCarey, Sean Igoe, Danny Byrne and Don Smith.
