€77,000 in Dormant Accounts funding for Cavan Town announced
Cavan Town Fianna Fáil candidates have warmly welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr. Eamon O’Cuiv, T.D., that he has approved €77,000 in funding for 8 separate projects in Cavan Town, under the Dormant Accounts Fund, as part of the RAPID Programme
The following projects are to benefit:
Ø Breffni Integrated Ltd €25,000
Ø Cavan Sports Partnership €19,000
Ø Irish Traveller Movement €9,000
Ø Teach Oscail FRC Project Ltd, €7,000
Tullachmongan
Ø Foroige €5,000
Ø The Football Association of Ireland €5,000
Ø The Cavan Family Outreach Summer/Autumn Prog €4,965
Ø The Cavan Chatterbox project Summer Prog €2,035
Outgoing Fianna Fáil Town Councillors and candidates Patricia Walsh, Paddy Sexton and Paddy Conaty, as well as the other candidates, Anne Reilly and Noeleen Sharkey said that as group they have strongly supported Dormant Accounts funding and the RAPID Programmes in general, which have invested extensively in social programmes in Cavan Town in recent years. They welcomed the fact that Fianna Fáil in Government continues to invest in local communities and pledged to continue working at local authority level to ensure that further funding is secured.
