Accommodation boost for Scoil Mhuire, Lacken- Smith
The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mr. Brendan Smith has announced that approval has been given for additional accommodation at Scoil Mhuire, Lacken.
Minister Smith said that following extensive representations to his colleague, An Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Ms. Mary Coughlan, he was glad to be in a position to announce that funding has now been allocated to proceed with the provision of a new classroom and a new resource room at the school.
“I am very pleased that Scoil Mhuire is the latest school to benefit from the largest ever building programme in County Cavan, which has seen over €72 million invested in recent years”, Minister Smith said.
The Minister congratulated the Principal, Mr. Kevin Foley on the successful application for funding, the Chairman of the Board of Management and other board members, as well as the Parent’s Association for their ongoing commitment to Scoil Mhuire.
