Smith confirms Cavan County Council to get €145,400 recycling grant

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that a grant of over €145,400 has been awarded to Cavan County Council towards the running costs of recycling facilities.

The grant, which was approved by the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr. John Gormley, T.D., will assist Cavan County Council in the considerable running costs associated with the operation of their bring banks and civic amenities.

The promotion of recycling at a national and a local level is now well advanced in Ireland and is playing an important role in improving the environment. This is a very significant grant for Cavan County Council who can now ensure that the waste recycling facilities they operate across the County will continue to offer suitable civic facilities for the safe and responsible disposal of waste”, Minister Smith said.
