Minister Smith confirmed that he had been informed of the funding approval by his colleague the Tánaiste and Minister for Educational and Skills, Ms. Mary Coughlan, T.D. and said that it was the latest illustration of the largest ever investment programme in schools that is benefiting all parts of County Cavan.

“I very much welcome this positive news for Castlerahan Central NS which will allow them to enhance the quality of the facilities they can offer at the school. Tremendous progress continues to be made in upgrading school buildings right across Cavan, most recently illustrated in the 34 schools included in the Summer Works Scheme 2010. Despite the pressures on the public finances, the Government is pressing ahead with investment in our schools and I am delighted that Cavan continues to be a major beneficiary”, Minister Smith said.
