Cavan County Council to get new mobile library-SMITH
The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and Cavan/Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that funding has been approved to Cavan County Council for the provision of a new mobile library.
The funding is part of the Library Capital Programme 2010-2011 and was approved by Minister for Housing and Local Services, Michael Finneran.
“I warmly welcome this announcement which follows very significant investment in the library services in County Cavan in recent years. Already, a marvellous new County Library Headquarters in Cavan Town has been provided, as well as a new branch library in Cootehill and significantly upgraded facilities at Bailieborough. This new mobile service will be important from an educational and social point of view and as well as allowing for the use of modern technology, will facilitate the expansion of library facilities to the more rural areas of the County”, Minister Smith said.
