More good news for Cavan Schools-SMITH
Following on from recent announcements, including a record number of schools benefiting under the 2010 Summer Works Scheme, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed further good news for three schools in County Cavan.
He has been informed by his colleague, An Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan, T.D. that Virginia College has been awarded a grant of €30,000 for a Junior Cert Technology Set-Up Grant. In addition to this, Minister Smith confirmed that funding has been approved for St. Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill for a new tarmac car park and student walkways, while St. Bricin’s College, Belturbet has been awarded funding to provide an off-street bus parking area.
“This announcement is yet further evidence of the major investment currently underway in modernising schools right across County Cavan. I would like to offer my congratulations to the three schools involved on the success of their applications”, Minister Smith said.
