Sod turned for new €1.2 million Tullyveela National School by local Minister
The new school, which is being constructed on a green field site, will consist of three classrooms, a general purpose room and ancillary facilities, including an access road and a treatment plant.
“Last month I was able to announce that the contract for the new school had been awarded and I am delighted to be here this morning to mark the commencement of construction of this major project that will cost in the region of €1.2 million.
This is a very special day for the entire local community, who over the next few months will witness the new school becoming a reality as the successful contractors, Sammon Contracting Ltd. progress construction.
Tremendous progress is being made in the provision of new school buildings throughout County Cavan and I look forward to being back here once again to mark the opening of the new building.
I’d like once again to offer my warm congratulations to the Principal, teachers, children, Parents’ Association, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Management and the other Members, for their interest and work in progressing this important project”, Minister Smith said.
