Smith welcomes €9.1 million social housing allocations
The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has confirmed that over €9.1 million has been allocated to Cavan County Council and Cavan Town Council under the Social Housing Investment Programme 2010.
The allocation has been approved by his colleague, the Minister for Housing and Local Services, Mr. Michael Finneran, T.D. and involves separate allocations to Cavan County Council and Cavan Town Council and will be used to fund the social housing programmes, loan schemes, capital assistance schemes, various remedial and repair schemes, including energy measures and traveller accommodation.
Minister Smith said that it was important that Cavan County Council and Cavan Town Council be able to continue with their social housing programmes and that this very significant level of funding will allow for the very extensive and comprehensive work to continue.
