Protected buildings and structures in Cavan to receive to €41,500 boost- Smith


The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/ Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed the announcement of funding to support protected buildings and structures in Cavan.

The Minister confirmed that Cavan County Council is to receive funding of €41,500 under the Local Authorities Conservation Grants Scheme which will be used for the upkeep of  local places of historical importance.

 

“It’s essential that we conserve and protect our built heritage. Not only do these buildings and structures form an integral part of local history and cultural identity, they also bring significant economic benefits in the form of cultural tourism and employment. This funding will allow Cavan County Council to further enhance the great work that they are going in securing the future of protected buildings and structures in the county”, Minister Smith said.
