Further allocation under Housing Aid Scheme for the Elderly
Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State has welcomed the additional allocation of € 600,000 to the Health Service Executive Dublin/North East Region for the Special Housing Aid for the Elderly Scheme for 2006. This brings the total allocation for this year to € 3.6 Million.
Minister Smith was informed by the Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal, Mr. Noel Ahern, T.D., that this additional funding is being made available to effectively assist elderly people who live alone to ensure that their homes are in good repair so that they can continue to live in their own environment in as much comfort as possible.
