More Funding for Housing
Mr Brendan Smith T.D. has welcomed the decision by his colleague, Mr Noel Ahern T.D. Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal to allocate €1.5 million to Cavan County Council and €300,000 to Cavan Town Council in respect of this year’s Remedial Works Schemes.
Minister Smith stated that the €1.5 million will enable improvement works to be carried out on houses at Woodview, Bailieborough, Drumnaveil, Cootehill, Chapel Lane and Fay Crescent, Belturbet and Cusack Estate, Ballyjamesduff.
Minister Smith also stated that the €300,000 allocated to Cavan Town Council is in respect of improvement works to houses at Tullacmongan.
Minister Smith stated that this allocation is further evidence of this Government’s commitment to a major housing programme throughout all the country and County Cavan is a major beneficiary.
He added that this allocation means that almost €16 million is available for the Local Authority Housing Construction Programme this year in County Cavan.
