Funding for Carrickallen Scheme
Mr Brendan Smith T.D. has announced that funding of €7,619.90 has now been approved for Carrickallen/Mountain Lodge Community Alert.
The Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Mr Noel Ahern T.D. in his correspondence to Brendan Smith stated that this funding is being provided under his Department’s Scheme of Community Supports for Older People and this Scheme provides funding for initiatives to improve the security and social support of older individuals by means of a community-based grant scheme. He added that security devices such as window locks, door locks, security lighting, smoke alarms and the once off cost of installing socially monitored alarm systems can be included in these projects.
