Flasing Amber Safety Lights for 20 schools


Mr Brendan Smith T.D Minister of State has welcomed the decision of his colleague Mr Eamon O’ Cuív T.D. Minister for Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to approve grant assistance of  €133,000 towards the provision of Flashing Amber Safety Lights at twenty Primary Schools in County Cavan.

Mr Brendan Smith T.D Minister of State has welcomed the decision of his colleague Mr Eamon O’ Cuív T.D. Minister for Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to approve grant assistance of  €133,000 towards the provision of Flashing Amber Safety Lights at twenty Primary Schools in County Cavan.

 

Minister Smith stated that the Flashing Amber Safety Lights at Schools measure is fully funded by the Clár Programme, which is operated by the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. He added that this scheme will facilitate the provision of these safety lights at all National Schools in all Clár areas that do not already have them.

 

The Cavan Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. added that these lights are a major safety asset, particularly at schools outside villages in urban areas where higher speed limits apply. He added that the schools in County Cavan to benefit under this particular round of grant allocation are  -

  • St. Anne’s National School, Bailieborough
  • Kildallan National School
  • Killoughter National School (St. Brigids) Redhills

  • Tullyveela National School, Corlough,
  • Killeshandra No. 2 National School
  • Darley National School, Cootehill
  • Carrigabruise National School, Virginia
  • Scoil Bhride, Killeshandra
  • Kilmore National School, Ricehill, Cavan
  • Killyconnan National School
  • Crosskeys National School
  • St. Clares National School, Ballyjamesduff
