Support for Community Alert

Mr. Noel Ahern T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to approve funding for Carrickallen Mountain Lodge Community Alert, Clifferna Community Alert and
St. Vincent de Paul, Bailieboro.
Minister Smith stated that the funding of €5,005.90 for Clifferna Community Alert, €395.10 for Carrickallen Mountain Lodge Community Alert and €3,509.59 for St. Vincent de Paul, Bailieboro has been approved under the Scheme for Community Supports of Older People.
Minister Ahern in his correspondence to the Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. stated that the Scheme of Community Supports for Older People provides funding for initiatives to improve the security and social support of older individuals by means of a community-based grant scheme. He added that security devices are included under this scheme and Minister Smith complimented the local community and voluntary groups on their initiative in carrying out this worthwhile and important work.
