Mr. Brendan Smith T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food has welcomed the major extension of the CLÁR Programme with an additional 17 District Electoral Divisions throughout County Cavan.  He added that this extension will now mean that 85 District Electoral Divisions in County Cavan are included in the CLÁR Programme.

Minister Smith stated that the following District Electoral Divisions are now included:

Bailieborough, Enniskeen, Kingscourt, Mullagh, Ballyjamesduff, Lurgan, Munterconnaught, Virginia, Ballinagh, Butlersbridge, Crossdoney, Crosskeys, Cuttragh, Denn, Killeshandra, Killykeen, Stradone.

Minister Smith stated that the Government decision to expand the CLÁR Programme is very welcome and this very successful Rural Development Scheme will ensure that further additional Government funding will be provided for many rural communities.  He added that to date CLÁR funding had assisted in the provision of many infrastructural projects and also helped local communities develop facilities.
