€850,000 for Ballymachugh Childcare


Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food has welcomed the decision by Mr Brian Lenihan, T.D., Minister for Children to approve a capital grant of € 850,000 towards the provision of a new childcare facility in Ballymachugh.

Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food has welcomed the decision by Mr Brian Lenihan, T.D., Minister for Children to approve a capital grant of € 850,000 towards the provision of a new childcare facility in Ballymachugh.

 

Minister Smith stated that this major funding will ensure that the new childcare building will have state of the art facilities and it will be of great benefit to the area. 

 

The Fianna Fáil Deputy added that this is further evidence of this Government’s commitment to the provision of a whole range of new childcare facilities throughout the county.  He added that the funding is being provided under the Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme which is funded by the Irish Government and the European Union and this Programme is increasing the supply and quality of childcare places throughout the country.

 

Minister Smith complimented the local Committee on their work in advancing the project to this stage and he was glad to work with people in the local community in support of this worthy application.
