Sixteen Schools approved for Improvement Works
Mr Brendan Smith T.D. Minister of State has announced that the Minister for Education & Science, Ms Mary Hanafin T.D. has now approved Applications in respect of improvement works for twelve Primary Schools and four Second Level Schools in County Cavan.

Minister Smith stated that these Applications have been approved under the Summer Works Scheme of the Department of Education & Science and he added that this particular Scheme has been introduced in the past few years to enable necessary improvement works to be carried out during the summer months.
Minister Smith stated that the following Schools will benefit this year:
- Kilnaleck National School (Electrical)
- Crubany National School (Windows)
- St Clare’s Primary School (Windows)
- Killyconnan National School (Mechanical)
- St Mary’s National School, Virginia (Play Area)
- St Mary’s National School, Drung (Roofs)
- Tunnyduff National School, Bailieboro (Toilets)
- St Felim’s Cavan Town (Play Area)
- St Anne’s National School, Bailieboro (Car Parking)
- Kilmore Central National School, Kilcogy (Toilets)
- Mullahoran Central National School (Mechanical)
- St Josephs National School, Kingscourt (Access for All)
- St Clare’s College, Ballyjamesduff (Windows)
- Loreto College, Cavan (Mechanical)
- Vocational School, Belturbet (Science Laboratory)
Bailieboro Community School (Science Laboratory)
The Cavan Fianna Fáil T.D. stated that these Approvals mark a further welcome investment in school facilities and he added that the largest ever School Building Programme is underway, at present, throughout County Cavan.
