Funding for Disabled Persons Grant and Essential Repairs Grant
Mr Brendan Smith T.D. has welcomed the allocation of €1,965,000 to Cavan County Council in respect of Disabled Persons and Essential Repairs Grants for 2006.
Mr Brendan Smith T.D. has welcomed the allocation of €1,965,000 to Cavan County Council in respect of Disabled Persons and Essential Repairs Grants for 2006.
Minister Noel Ahern, in his correspondence to Minister Smith, stated that this funding provides for the Essential Repairs and Disabled Persons Grants Schemes for private dwellings and that such improvement works to Local Authority dwellings are funded by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government under its Housing Construction Programme.
Minister Smith welcomed this increase in funding and he stated that both the Essential Repairs and Disabled Persons Grants Schemes are of great importance to many families particularly elderly people and people with a disability who need to carry out improvement works to their homes.
