Smith welcomes €1.8 million boost for Cavan and Monaghan under Rural Development Programme
The Minister Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed the immediate allocation of over €1.8 million to Cavan Partnership Ltd and County Monaghan Area Partnership Ltd under the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
The Minister Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan, T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed the immediate allocation of over €1.8 million to Cavan Partnership Ltd and County Monaghan Area Partnership Ltd under the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
The funding, which was announced by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr. Eamon O Cuiv, T.D., is specifically targeted at capital projects such as village renewal and development, basic services for the economy and rural population, and conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage.
“This is a very timely boost to rural communities in Counties Cavan and Monaghan and will allow for a series of projects to progress more quickly. These projects will have a significant impact on economic renewal and recovery and will no doubt breathe new life into these communities”, Minister Smith said.
