Funding for Community Services for Cavan Town
Mr. Brendan Smith T.D. has welcomed the approval by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív T.D. of a grant of €99,950 to Cavan County Development Board to assist in the provision of a One Stop Shop in Cavan Town for the delivery of community services.
Mr. Brendan Smith T.D. has welcomed the approval by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív T.D. of a grant of €99,950 to Cavan County Development Board to assist in the provision of a One Stop Shop in Cavan Town for the delivery of community services.
Minister Ó Cuív in his correspondence to Minister Brendan Smith stated that the grant of €99,950 will meet the costs of furniture, fittings and IT equipment for the centre. As well as being a One Stop shop for community development groups, the centre will also house training facilities, youth services, family support services, education and tenant liaison services.
The Minister further added that this project involves the renovation of a building already in the ownership of Cavan Town Council and that the total cost of the reconstruction is estimated at €400,000. He states that funding is also being sourced from the Department of Health & Children, the Peace II Programme, the Town Council and local contributions.
