Funding for Road Safety Measures in Estates


Mr. Brendan Smith T.D., Minister of State has announced that €45,000 has now been approved in respect of Road Safety Measures at a number of Estates in Cavan Town.

Mr. Brendan Smith T.D., Minister of State has announced that €45,000 has now been approved in respect of Road Safety Measures at a number of Estates in Cavan Town.

 

Minister Smith stated that €22,500 has been approved by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív T.D. under his Department’s RAPID Programme and the remaining funding will be provided by Cavan Town Council.

 

The Fianna Fáil T.D. stated that this funding will enable the provision of speed reduction measures and signage at The Steeples, Pedestrian lights and signage at Kilnavara Crescent, Signage and road markings, O’Raghallaigh Park,  Improve road markings, signage and surface at Fairview/Laragh Crescent/Park View,  Footpath improvements – Ard na Greine/St. Patrick’s Terrace/St. Martins Estate/John Paul Avenue.

 

Minister Smith stated that this funding follows on other financial assistance of €100,000 provided to Cavan Town Council recently under the RAPID Programme’s Estate Enhancement Programme.
