Funding for Drugs Task Force
Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food has been informed by Mr Noel Ahern, T.D., Minister of State for the National Drugs Strategy that he has allocated € 290,000 to the North East Regional Drugs Task Force which will enable them to start implementing their Regional Action Plan.

Minister Ahern in his correspondence to Minister Smith stated that the Regional Drugs Task Force are an important part of the National Drugs Strategy and he hopes that this allocation of funding for the Regional Drugs Task Force will enable and develop a range of new initiatives to tackle drug misuse in their areas. He added that he is confident that the funding, which will be approved this year will have a positive impact in addressing the gaps in services for drug misusers.
