Approval of Flashing Amber Safety Lights at 32 Schools in Cavan
Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Food and Horticulture has welcomed the announcement today by Mr Eamon Ó Cuív, T.D., Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs that he has approved € 248,500 for the provision of flashing amber safety lights at 32 schools in the CLÁR areas of Co. Cavan.

The approved schools are as follows:
- Lisboduff National School - € 7,000
- Dernakesh National School - € 7,000
- Laragh National School - € 7,000
- St. Bridget’s National School, Kill - € 7,000
- Kilnaleck National School - € 7,000
- Mountnugent National School - € 7,000
- Cross National School, Crossreagh - € 7,000
- Crosserlough National School - €14,000
- Castlerahan National School - €10,500
- Corlea National School, Kingscourt - € 7,000
- Knockbride National School, Canningstown - € 7,000
- Killinkere National School - €10,500
- Tunnyduff National School - € 7,000
- Clifferna National School - € 7,000
- Coronea National School - € 7,000
- Lacken National School - € 7,000
- Arva National School - € 7,000
- Arva No.1 National School - € 7,000
- Ballynarry National School - € 7,000
- Gowna National School - € 7,000
- Corratober National School, Arva - € 7,000
- Bruskey National School - € 7,000
- Drumkilly National School - € 7,000
- Mullahoran National School - €14,000
- St. Brigid’s National School, Killoughter - € 7,000
- Greaghrahan National School - € 7,000
- Corlis National School - € 7,000
- Milltown National School - € 7,000
- St. Mary’s National School, Belturbet - € 7,000
- Convent Girls National School, Belturbet - € 7,000
- Killinagh National School, Blacklion - €10,500
- Curraghveigh National School, Blacklion - € 7,000
Minister Smith stated that this 100% funding is being provided under the CLÁR Programme and the provision of these lights at all schools in the CLÁR areas will greatly improve safety at these schools.
This announcement has also been welcomed by local Fianna Fáil Councillors in each electoral area.
