Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food has welcomed the announcement from Minister Eamon O’Cuiv and Minister Mary Harney that funding of € 80,000 has been approved to Cavan Family Support Drop In Centre.

Minister Smith added that this RAPID Programme is a focused Government initiative to target the most disadvantaged areas in the country.  Local Health Service Executives were invited to submit proposals for funding in consultation with RAPID Area Implementation Teams and it is recognised that lack of adequate facilities, directly or indirectly related to health, the elderly and youth, are a major contributor to disadvantage in RAPID areas, said the Minister.

This funding of € 80,000 will help towards renovation work and the purchase of new equipment.
