Additional Funding for Roads


Minister of State, Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., and Senator Diarmuid Wilson have announced that an additional € 482,660 has now been allocated to Cavan County Council towards its Non-National Roads Programme for 2005.

Minister of State, Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., and Senator Diarmuid Wilson have announced that an additional € 482,660 has now been allocated to Cavan County Council towards its Non-National Roads Programme for 2005.

 

Minister of State Smith stated that this funding is being provided under the CLÁR Programme and the allocation has been approved by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr Éamon Ó Cuiv, T.D., and the Environment Minister, Mr Dick Roche, T.D.

 

Minister Smith stated that with this additional allocation Cavan County Council will now have € 18.3 Million available for the Non-National Roads Programme this year and he added that further funding will be allocated under the Local Improvement Scheme for the repair of laneways and substantial funding will also be allocated towards the National Roads Programme.

 

Minister Smith stated that the largest ever Roadworks Programme will be undertaken in Co. Cavan this year.
