2005 School Building Programme


Mr Brendan Smith, T.D., has announced that the Minister for Education and Science, Ms Mary Hanafin, T.D., has now approved a number of school building projects to go to the next stage of architectural planning.

Minister Smith stated that the Minister’s recent decision enables Carrigabruise National School – Virginia, The Holy Family Special School – Cootehill, St. Patrick’s College – Cavan and St. Aidan’s Comprehensive School – Cootehill to progress through architectural planning under the 2005 School Building Programme.

 

Minister Smith stated that these projects will provide the schools with the most modern and up-to-date facilities and he added that those projects will enhance considerably the range of educational facilities throughout the county.

 

The Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. added that a number of other school building projects in the county were approved to go to construction or to progress through architectural planning in decisions made earlier by the Minister and he added that the largest ever school building programme at primary and secondary level is now underway throughout the county.
