Further significant funding for St. Mogue’s College, Bawnboy


Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has announced that approval has been given for funding to replace  pre-fabs at St. Mogue’s College, Bawnboy.

The funding, which has been approved by his colleague, the Minister for Education and Science, Mr. Batt O’Keeffe, T.D., follows extensive recent investment at the college totalling over €435,000, which involved a major upgrading of facilities, including classrooms, information technology facilities, electrical rewiring, a new fire alarm and heating system, and roof repairs.

 

Welcoming the approval of further funding at St. Mogue’s, Minister Smith said that this was a very exciting time for the College which played such a central role in the community of Bawnboy. He congratulated principal, Ms. Anne Conaghan for the successful application for funding which was well deserved and would allow the College to further build on its great reputation as a centre of educational excellence.

 

Local Councillor, Seán Smith also welcomed the approval of funding to replace existing pre-fabs which he said would be warmly received by the people of Bawnboy.
