Smith welcomes funding boost for youth groups and schools
Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has welcomed an announcement that 43 youth groups and 2 schools in County Cavan are to benefit from Dormant Accounts funding.
Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has welcomed an announcement that 43 youth groups and 2 schools in County Cavan are to benefit from Dormant Accounts funding.
The allocations are part of the Dormant Accounts Fund and RAPID Leverage Fund to enhance school library facilities and parent rooms and small scale equipment grants for youth groups.
43 youth groups (full list attached) will receive a total of €29,500, while Crubany NS and Tullyveela NS, Corlough, Belturbet, have been allocated €43,764 and €23,550 respectively for library enhancement projects.
Welcoming the funding, the Minister and Cavan-Monaghan T.D. stated that the financial support for so many groups in Cavan was a very welcome boost and would directly benefit hundreds of young people in the County. “I would like to congratulate all involved with these groups and wish them well in their ongoing work for the local community”, he said.
