Smith launches County Cavan VEC Youth Directory
Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has launched a new Youth Directory for County Cavan VEC.
Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has launched a new Youth Directory for County Cavan VEC.
Speaking at a ceremony in Cavan College of Further Education the Minister acknowleged that the publication was a perfect illustration of the success of youth services in the County which “has always had a proud tradition in supporting the social and personal development of its young people in a creative and dynamic way”.
The Directory was, he said “an important resource for Cavan and an example of good youth practice to other counties of Ireland”.
Minister Smith concluded by paying tribute to those involved in youth services in County Cavan: “I would like to thank Councillor Clifford Kelly, Chairperson of County Cavan VEC, for his long and continuing involvement with the Irish youth work sector. Colm McEvoy, Chief Executive of Cavan VEC whose support and dedication the endeavour has greatly benefited. I must of course congratulate Maureen McIntyre the Cavan Youth Officer whose hard work has brought us together here this evening”.
