The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Cavan/Monaghan T.D., Mr. Brendan Smith has welcomed the announcement that two capital projects costing €500,000 are to proceed at Cavan General Hospital.
“I understand from the HSE, that work is to commence immediately in relocating the Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit that provides services for the elderly and the refurbishment of the Emergency Department. These developments are the latest in series of major capital projects at the hospital which has seen a very significant improvement in facilities, including the Special Care Baby Unit, Intensive Care Unit, MRI Unit, as well as day service area.
I would like once again to congratulate General Manager Mr. Dermot Monaghan and Director of Nursing, Mr. Eddie Byrne , as well as all the staff of this fine hospital which continues to deliver such top class care to the community of the hospital’s catchment area. These latest developments will help them to improve on this excellence even further”, Minister Smith said.
